So today, my brother and I and 2 other people from church decided to watch the movie Iron Man 2. The thing is that I did not enjoy much of this type of movie. I only enjoy comedy movies that were made for the sake of comedy. However, neither me nor my brother had a car and we were getting rides from another person. We just finished eating and decided to go to the theatre. I did not want to refuse to come watch the movie since that would mean that the other person would need to drive me home and it was not on the way. I spent $11.50 on the movie and I felt it was a waste since I do not even know what happened even after watching the movie. It was boring and I wanted to sleep a few times during the movie. What should I do next time a similar situation happens?

I would just say you are way too tired to go out or say you have a bad headache or something. I don't thinks it's rude to just outright say you are not really interested in doing something, but if you are feeling forced, I would go with saying you're tired or not feeling well.

This is what I would do.

-if you knew beforehand (like before you ate) I would go on home then to avoid the problem
-if your home was not far see if they didn't mind taking you, or if there was an alternate way home do that
-if there was something near by (say it was a strip mall or something) I would just go hang out there
-if you were sleepy during the movie, sleep! :]
-I guess you could go see another movie, but they might see that as rude

I don't like being in that situation either cause you feel kinda stuck.

Just tell them "no thanks, this isn't my type of movie" I enjoyed Iron Man 2 but I've said no to things like Remains of the Day and My Left Foot.
