I have just been told by my brother that I am 'ecentric'. How can I teach myself to behave more normally?

I just need some advice. Thanks.

What's wrong with being eccentric? I don't think what he said is anything negative, and I also think a lot depends on what you define as "normal". Unless there are attributes of your personality that YOU do not like and would like to change, I wouldn't worry too much about attempting "normalcy". Is there anything in particular that you would like to work on changing; things that bother you?

I walk with a funny gait. And I can talk a bit fast or too quietly sometimes.

I'm the same, but I only talk really fast when I'm either nervous or really excited.

There's nothing wrong with being eccentric. :)

Do nothing, you're you and others just have to accept it.

Watch TV. Do what it tells you. Slavishly copy those around you.

Hi Jamesy :)

My advice is pretty much the same as other advice you've received.

Be who you naturally are. That would be normal. Personally I feel that the term "normal" shouldn't be used to describe a person. I would prefer "typical", if you must try and fit in.

Is it that you want to behave more like a typical 20 year old? Or is it that you're feeling pressured to behave more typically?

Ultimately it's you who has to be happy with you. 8)

Do you think, perhaps, that your brother was simply making an observation, while fully accepting the fact that he sees you as eccentric?

Eccentric is good! It's almost like being charismatic.
And funny gaits can be cute. :P
I talk les clearly when I'm mad. It's embarrassing.
