I'd assume if you're talking about movies or games, two-dimensional and three-dimensional. A 2D game is like old Mario where you pretty much go left, right, up, and down. A 3D game is like Mario 64 where you can go in all directions.

In terms of technology, 3D is more like it jumps out at you, 2D is more flat. In terms of objects, a sheet of paper is 2D but a ball is 3D.

Thanks! I love Mario games, but I haven't played Mario games in a really long time, I have Mario games still, I have a gameboy.

Thanks for explaining! When people explains stuff to me, I can get very confuse. I don't have a mind of an adult. Watching TV shows can be so confusing, cuz it's hard to understand.

2D is old, right? And 3D is like REAL, that why you need 3D glasses for the movies.

2D means there's only 2 dimensions. A square is 2D

3D means there's 3 dimensions. A cube is 3D

2D images have width but no thickness, like traditional 2D animation. 3D images have width and thickness, like CGI animation and real life.

On a more proverbial note, most characters in 3D CGI animation barely have even one-dimensional personalities, with a few exceptions, like Shrek and Toy Story.
