Today saw thousands of students march in London, angered about the rise of student fees. Seeing people stand up for themselves is one thing, but a small minority made me proud to be British, below are some of the heartwarming scenes of a people who have lashed out after years of repressive Labour rule:

I hope more violence will follow in my country, we've literally had enough.

If this was in the Creedon Republic; the state militias would be called out to quell the rebellion, at all costs. This reminds me of what happened in Brattleboro back in 1885. The Vermont Guard was called in to quell a school uprising; sadly they massacred most of the students.

I might be proud of someone standing up for his or her rights in a peaceful way, but I don't agree with the vandalism I see in the pictures. Hold on, fourteen casualties? That's not right. I bet you'd be infuriated at these people if they weren't doing it in the name of something you agree with. Do you solve YOUR problems with terrorism?

Obviously, you don't know that the tuition fees will also affect non white students too.

I think Pro- Longed British boycotts would be more effective then destroying businesses that are apart of your own community .. For instance the race riots in America along time ago. Blacks destroyed there own communities ... you didn't see them going uptown and rioting in the rich area.

Peaceful protests I can be proud of but vandalism and violence do nothing but hamper causes, not help them.

What, 'cause a bunch of eejits (I'm guessing SWSS goons - had a quick look on SW website earlier and they were crowing about the action) decided to smash up Tory HQ? I'm sure the Powers That Be are trembling in their f*****g boots. Morons. The protest would have been effective if they hadn't gone all gung ho direct action - by smashing up the place they immediately lost a lot of public support.
In some circumstances I'd suspect agents provocateurs, but not this time. :(

I've always been fascinated by riots/revolts such as this. I've even considered traveling the world to photograph/film riots in different cities.

Not to say I agree with what is being done or WHY they're rioting in the first place, it's just strangely enchanting to me. A wee bit like people's fascination with serial killers, that attraction to studying humans that enter a subhuman state of mind.

Amazing photos! You can see the emotion.
