My 16 yo brother found a pair of shoes he really likes and wants to buy, but my parents and I all think that they're really ugly. I'm afraid that if my brother wears them out in public, he will be made fun of. He wanted me to make this topic to get an objective opinion on it, because he cannot see why we all hate these shoes.

So please, take a look at these shoes and tell me your honest opinion of them:

Those are the type of shoes I would want to buy to match my suit. :)

Superboyian, those shoes would look good with your suit!

IdahoRose, alone they're not my preferred style, but with the right outfit, like Superboyian's suit, they'd look great. I like it when people are a little adventurous in their attire - it keeps the mundane from being too normal. If he's really around people who are so uncomfortable with change that they would make fun of him over a pair of shoes, then hopefully he could maybe....if this is applicable, idk, not be around them so much (maybe you're thinking school kids or something?).

I'd totally cheer your brother on. If it makes him happy it's worth it. Fashion risks are fun and fairly harmless. :)

I like those shoes, but when I first glanced at them, they looked sort of feminine to me. I guess they'd look good on guys too.

Yeah they look a bit like girl shoes. Or pimp shoes. Feminine pimp shoes. Girls will think they look dumb.

Get these instead: http://www.nicekicks.com/images/pro-ked ... ries-1.jpg

hahahaha those are wild pimp shoes.

Tell your bro to get a matching cane and fedora and he'll be good to go.

I like the fact that those shoes have no laces. Hurray for shoes without laces. I can even get work boots without laces. Laces are lame.

I could never wear white shoes like that. I would walk through mud without even thinking and, get them dirty.

He wants to wear them with everyday casual clothes like jeans and his long-sleeved shirts.

If he's extroverted, normal, and claims they are pimp shoes, he can pull it off. I've seen worse fashion faux pas praised by school kids.

That's the thing... he's highly introverted to the point of social anxiety and he's not your average 16 year old (in fact, we suspect him of having AS). He still remembers when he wore white, laceless sneakers to school and a girl nicknamed him "nurse boy", so I don't think he'd appreciate being labelled a pimp.
