I've heard of mind games. The mind game, is the game.

I'm really tired of people using that.

My friend throws it at me all the time, and I keep telling him that it's cheating, but he won't listen to reason.

It even says in the rules, if you're tired of playing the game, and you stop playing, you're cheating.

I think he's just upset because he's really, really bad at the game.

I have another friend, though, who's really, really good at the game. Every time we ask if he wants to know what the game is, he says "no" @_@

Thanks a lot! I'm going to have to avoid this page for the rest of the day.

You (or rather the originator of the meme) are welcome to propound whatever rules you like, and if they're equally silly I'll continue to accord them the contempt they deserve. I don't think xkcd got it right - my own conclusion shortly after hearing of the Game for the first time was more along the lines of "er, I don't think so" only ruder - but linking to the well-known comic is a handy way to point out to those fortunate enough never to have had someone try to push the Game on them that it's generally held to be a load of rubbish. :P

People shouldn't push the game on others.

I guess Wikipedia has changed a lot since then, but when I first learned about the game, it said that you were only allowed to tell others about the game if they specifically asked you "What is the game?" and said "Yes." when you asked them if they wanted to know.

Well it wouldn't be a mind virus then, would it? It'd be more of a mind trojan, and that just dosen't have the same ring to it, ya know?
