If you went back time, what would you do differently?

For me, I would have to change to the time when I was back in year 7 in school back to when I was a new kid and I felt like I was welcome and also having alot of fun before a few things went wrong in my life and also to go back to the times to fix my mistakes that I have made in the past (which I would rather not mention).

So yea, what would you do differently?

I don't think I'd try to change my mistakes or do things different even if I thought I wanted to. In a way, my mistakes have made me the person I am today and have thought me invaluable lessons about life. I think if I were to get rid of my mistakes, I'd end up losing a lot of general life experience that has been extremely beneficial in the long run.

But if I had to go back in time, I'd hook up with Cleopatra.

I dream about time-machine.
Because I'd change many things.

I'd not make the crazy mistakes I made. Like in year 7 when I told people that I was confused about my sexuality and I got picked on all year for being a "lesbian" which I wasn't properly, just curious.

If I were to go back in time, I'd be 20 years old, and it would be The British 60s, with The Kinks, The Beatles and The Who, along with The Small Faces. Being a Kinks Fan, I'd go to all the Kinks concert, and my sister would go to all the Beatles concerts. My sister and I would be best friends, and we would do everything together. I'd be the tomboyish Mod, dressing pretty much like I do, now and my sister would be a Go-Go Girl. After all, black jeans are a Kinks Fan's favourite clothing. 8)

I'd prevent the snake from tempting eve with the apple. Or maybe I would give her a watermelon.

I'd go back to when this site was first made and join. I had already started to become crazy in 2004 but I wasn't that far down yet.

I'd go back in time to about 7 years ago & hopefully stop a relationship from ending badly.

I'd go back about 9 months and make sure I spent my time in England more wisely...

You're not alone; I made the same mistake when I was in junior high. It cost me a lot of friendships, including my closest one, and pretty much alienated me from the rest of my peers.

I wish I could redo all 3 of my junior high years (grades 7, 8 and 9). I would keep all of my emotional and sexual issues to myself instead of sharing them with anyone who would listen. I would be less clingy, needy and physical with my best friend, because I drove her away by acting like that. I would also put a lot more effort into my schoolwork, graduating with As and Bs instead of Cs and Ds, and I'd go on to attend high school instead of dropping out after finishing 9th grade.

I wouldn't stop any mistakes, because I learn from them. But I would start learning about programming earlier, then I might be able to actually do it today.

I'd go back to when I was with some of my exs and make sure that I humped them and dumped them before they wasted all my money, cheated on me or otherwise made things get ugly.

do i have the choice of the time i went back to?
do i have the choice of how long i would stay there (with time elapsing from that point) before i came back home to the present?
could i take back with me all the money i currently have?

if the answer to all these questions is "yes", then i would have a vastly complicated chore to configure.
i may think "i would go back to about 1850 and buy large pockets of land all around the cbd of sydney". the land then cost only like 10 pounds per acre.

but the problem is that they would not recognize my money because it looks different to what they had at the time.
so how could i get my money back there? maybe i could buy as much gold as i can afford, and take that back and trade it for land.

but gold then was relative in the same proportion to the price of other things, so if the price of gold then was 1 pound per ounce, then it would take 10 ounces of gold to buy one acre. that is still a bargain because it means i could buy land close to the city center for approx 6000 pounds per acre ($12,500 (given the current price of gold at approx $1,250 per oz (i can not be bothered to precisely calculate dollars to pounds and this is a ball park measure))).
since the land values have increased enormously, then an acre of land near the city center would be worth $10,000,000 today.

but when i left that time and came back to now, 160 years would have passed, and people would have been frothing at the mouth to get a hold of the land in that time, and it would be very difficult for authorities to preserve it when they could not contact the owner who seems not to exist.

so i would have to leave a title in a bank somewhere that bequeaths the land to an autistic great great great grandson called "mark" who will release it in the year 2010.

i am sure that the land would be considered unowned if no one connected to it's ownership could be contacted in all that time.

i think i would not choose to return to the past because whatever i do then will be smoothed over in the progress of time when i return to now.

i would go back to 1985 and tell my clueless 1986 self to beg, borrow and/or steal $10k to go and buy microsoft stock@ initial offering- then i'd be RICH! or i'd go back a bit further, to 1978, and tell myself to get signed up with CETA [Comprehensive Employment and Training Act] 3 years ahead of ronnie raygun getting elected and cancelling the program- then at least i'd have gotten a usefully renumerative trade and would never have been homeless and had to join the damned army. OR- i'd have gone WAAAYYYY back in time, to my spirit self well before i was born, and told my spirit self to choose a different lifetime to incarnate into.

I'd go back to my school years and finish the accelerated program they put me in...and actually do the work this time and seek out help. Then I would have been better off, MUCH better off.
