In general, what effect do showers tend to have on you? Do they make you more awake or do they make you drowsy?

Showers can have both effects on me, but they generally make me drowsy moreso than they make me more awake.

They wake me up. A bath is more relaxing/better for bedtime to me than a shower.

Generally make me tired. Unless I'm tired already, in which case they energize me.

Showers, baths, swimming, getting soaked in the rain, all make me really tired. I get a boost while I'm in the water and feel like I could change the world, but within a half hour of drying off I'm completely drained of any energy. Which is why I have a love/hate relationship with water. I would love to be able to stay in water forever, but all this back and forth between wet and dry really sucks.

Depends on the temperature for the water. These days it quickens me up, as I only do cold showers in the summer time. If I do hot showers in the summer I get nauseaus. :eew:

In the winter, when it's dark and cold I do nice and warm showers, which makes me veeery drowsy.

Showertime is a time for me to reflect, I cherish this time to myself where I'm nude and "pure" in a sense. It's my pause button on stressful mornings.

I do not like the feeling of water on my skin; when the shower is over and the water is dripping from me it bothers me very much. It makes me neither more alert or less. I do not really care for swimming, either. I do love rain, though, and walking in it is lovely.

Sleepy. Not to mention they give me a slight rash because I'm allergic to some chemical in the water.

Showers awaken my body and my mind.

Do you use a Brita filter on the shower head? That would filter out the chlorine.

I feel sleepy and sick when I get out of the shower.

My mind tends to wander in the shower. It's like staying awake in bed, thinking about everything. Happens to me in the shower too.

For me, it's the official beginning of the new day. If we have an emergency and I can't take my morning shower, I don't feel right until I do finally get one. Even if it's middle of winter, and I still smell like soap from the day before's shower.

I ought to give that a try when I'm not too broke to buy one
