Does anyone else notice that Aspies are a lot more like cats than people think? Like, I've caught a feline bug before, that humans arent known to get and had all the symptoms my cat had. I know this is probably stupid and I sound crazy or stupid, but just throwing it out there. I sometimes feel like I'm supposed to be a cat, and I can really relate to them. 8O

I was obsessed with cats while growing up. I have two elderly cats now. I could always relate to the cat.

Btw, have you seen this?:

I also enjoy cats. People with Asperger's and cats have a lot in common. You'll notice a lot of the people on this website have pictures of cats as their avatars.

I relate to cats quite well. I have three cats myself, and each of them appears to have varying AS tendencies. Recently I met a ginger cat and I crouched down and tried to get him to approach me. I could tell he wanted to, but he was too shy. He backed off, still looking at me, and continued to rub the side of his head against the wall, which I think must be like stimming for cats. I came away quite surprised at how much like me this cat was.

Not only are we more like cats. Our facial features are more cat-like, as well. 8)

Definitely, it should be no surprise that that's one reason why we're attached more to animals than people. It's also been said that all dogs have ADHD, but I'll let you draw your own conclusions on that.

I have five cats. I relate to them better than I am able to relate to any other living creature. I, also, feel quite cat-like, often.

i am very cat like, apart from my own personality I also have traits such as long fingernails, fairly nocturnal behaviour and I often get told that I move around very stealthly.

Unfortuantly my mother has always had an allergy to cats so I don;t have a lot of experiance with them, so instead I have a dog which I have found that I have an allergy to dogs, and apparently according to people I have talked to that means I probably have an allergy to cats aswell.
