I am of the understanding that "mobile" is the term used in the UK and other parts of Europe, perhaps Australia and NZ as well but I'm less sure of that, and "cell phone" or just "cell" is more commonly what it is called in the USA, and probably Canada.

Anyone from Europe or "down under" feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

I usually just say iPhone

I make a special point of saying 'cell' (and not saying 'mobile') if I am talking to an American.

Other than that, I usually just say 'my phone' when referring to the phone I carry with me and 'home' phone (which I never actually use) when I am NOT referring to the phone that I carry with me :?

Singaporeans refer to their 'Handphone' and use the abbreviation 'HP' (which confused the heck out of me the first time I saw it, as I assumed everyone in Singapore was using a cell/mobile phone made by Hewlett Packard :?

Same, but if the phone I'm referring to is some non-Apple piece of crap I'll say mobile phone because I'm not American

Just as I say texting and not smsing.

I speak proper English.
