Are there any people here who are into "goth," "punk," or any other "alternative" type thing?.. or any who have tattooes and/or piercings?

I had an obsession for awhile with 80s Goth Rock, so i tend to listen to a lot of Goth and Post-Punk, and a but of Punk and Industrial.. I also like wearing mostly black. I generally like "goth" style, but i'm kind of lazy with clothing and don't like makeup much so i don't look super-gothy or anything... I did for a little while back in high school, though. I also have quite a few piercings.

The thing that makes it strange is also being an Aspie... because i don't fit in with a particular group of people. I dress how i do and have piercings because i like it. I admit, i do have an interest in the goth subculture, but i don't have a group of "goth" friends or anything. Most people think that their "alternative" style is something that makes them different... But, for me, it seems like it actually makes me seem more "normal" than i am. People seem to assume that i know something about the local music "scene" and stuff when they see me, when i'm really clueless. I don't have any "connections." Even in high school it was the same. I didn't have an "alternative" crowd i hung out with(or any crowd), despite looking obviously "goth"(which would probably lead most people to assume that i was part of a certain group).

Belonging to a certain "alternative" type subculture isn't what is generally expected of an Aspie, because we're generally pretty much blind to cliques and stuff, and we usually don't care as much as NTs about how we look or how we "fit in"... But it's possible, in a strange way. Anyone else into "alternative" type stuff and have thoughts they'd like to share?

Would my taste in music be more punk, or Mod? There were punks, in the 60s.

Don't like or have tattoos or piercings. Grew out of being punk when I was 14. Never really quit being gothic but I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore goth.

Two tattoos here, designed by me, and I don't regret them.

I wear a lot of black, I always have and probably always will.

I'm drawn to witchy stuff but don't practice witch craft in any way.

I've never followed fashion and probably never will. I always dress for comfort.

I don't have anything against how others dress...it doesn't affect me. I don't even notice appearances most of the time.

If I do notice, I don't make assumptions that people are a certain type because of the way they are dressed, or because they are all pierced up or have tattoos.

I have lots of different styles, one day I can be punk, then the next goth, then for the next week be japanese-styled

But i do have a lip piercing, and I'm hoping to get a tattoo when I hit 18, but not some biker tattoo, on the inside of my forearm :)

I'm also drawn to the gothic subculture. I don't dress gothic, but I have recenty found out that I tend to look better in dark colors. I'm pretty much drawn to anything dark and gothic. Some would think that I'm emo, and, truthfully, I can be a little emo at times.

I got my left ear pierced when I was 13. I don't wear anything in it anymore, though. I have a tattoo of Jack Skellington on my left forearm and plan on getting another tattoo of a raven. I also wouldn't mind getting more piercings, particularly in other areas of my ear. Tongue piercings sound painful to me. :?

I remember for my 15th birthday, I bought a goth outfit from Hot Topic. I still wear it sometimes, on Halloween or on very cold winter days. The material is so thick that it amazes me how true goths can dress like that even during the summer months.

I had a couple of goth friends back in junior high. One of them was a girl with bipolar disorder in my art class who was attracted to me in a romantic and sexual way. She was the first and only person I've ever kissed outside of family members. I deeply regret that.

The other was an openly gay goth boy. He genuinely enjoyed my company and made me part of his group of friends, because we all shared the same interest in anime. Unfortunately, I had to compete for his friendship with my bullies, because they all liked him too. I even came close to getting into a physical fight with one of them over it, although that had less to do with my friend than the fact that the bully and I already had lots of underlying hatred for each other from previous scuffles.

There was a two year period, that I'm sure some of you remember, that I was Punk. 2007 - 2009. I'll stop here.

I don't really listen to it actually, I mostly just listen to the radio, and occasionaly there is a paramore song on which I really like that band. So techincally no not really.

I only have my ears pierced, I had them double pierced but they got infected and had to let them close up. D:

I really want my nose pierced though, just a super small one where it looks like a piece of glitter. I do not ever want a tattoo.

I don't 'belong' to anything but I love, and relate to punk music.

.... oh, I also play (read abuse) an LP satin black 'goth' guitar, but I put a hello kitty sticker over the Gothic cross on the head. :P

gabba, gabba!

There was a guitar shop near me selling a baby pink el. guitar and a baby pink ac. guitar. BOTH HAD HELLO KITTY ON THEM, and both had pink fluffy sholderbands . But they cost too much so I couldn't buy one :(

I don't have any peircings or tatoos but, I do have Type O Negative's "World Coming Down" CD in my car. I usually dress in black. Other "goth" bands I like are:

Black Sabbath
Opeth
The Tea Party
