They predicted California would sink by now. We're still here.

Some people might wind up marooned on the moon.

They also thought that every computer would malfunction at the end of 1999. Nothing happened.

The wave produced would be composed of molten rock. The biosphere would be largely destroyed (I'd say totally, only life is tenacious and stuff at the bottom of the oceans might survive.) The only way you're going to move that much rock that far is by dropping a very large rock (like, the Moon) on the centre of the continent. We're talking Borealis Basin style impact. Have a look at a map of Mars. See how the north - nearly the entire north of the planet - is below the mean height (roughly the same as sea level on Earth, only of course there aren't any seas), and the south - nearly the entire south of the planet - is above the mean height? That's roughly what shifting Asia into the sea means. ^^

The only doomsday scenario with Asia is the immense amount of Methane stored in frozen lakes and permafrost of siberia.

Typical Russia's gonna end the world with a great big fart

So the theory is that Asia and Asia alone will sink? Quite odd, since it's connected to two other continents. Would it be only most of Asia within the space or would it be all of Asia exactly? Cuz then that'd be weird as hell.
