Most media is used as a form of mind control, or more to the point to make the masses accept and apply a certain way of thinking, a lifestyle if you will. This lifestyle is that of consumerism and dependency on material objects in order to be happy. Some people say the Illuminati control the worlds media in order to create "The New World Order", which is supposed to be based on the notion of secularism and the acceptance of free will ie. To do as you please, and to forget about any accountability.

But either way even if you don't believe in conspiracy theories, TV especially, is a tool of mind control. What we see on the Television is based on the concept of life being a pursuit of fun and spending time and effort on objects in order to achieve that fun. These objects are products being sold, and pretty much everything is commercially driven, even movies and series. So yeah we are all being fed subliminal and obvious messages to buy products and to live a certain lifestyle which is "cool", popular etc.

It's all about making money as far as I'm concerned.

In Poland recently there was a scandal concerning some sexologist hypnotising his female patients to molest them at this time.

I read an awesome novel once by Dean Koontz. I can't remember the name, but it was about hypnosis. A crazy man who was in charge of tv and radio broadcasts to this small village hypnotised them all for ages in the tv shows. He made it so that when he said "i am the key" the person in the town would say "i am the lock" and then be his zombie slave. The first thing he did was to make a housewife have sex with him. He just went to her house and said " i am the key, now screw me". She was crying and thinking no why am i doing this but couldnt stop herself obeying the order. Then he had the whole town as an army, against their will and hating him, but couldnt stop themselves. He had a plan to do it across the country and eventually the President. Luckily a holidaying family, and their B and B owner who did not watch TV and thus was not affected, stop the maniac.
