i like the kind of earmuff-things that block out sound that people who use chainsaws and other loud power tools use.

my dad had a pair laying around the garage. I tried them out and they worked really well at blocking out sound, and they fit on pretty comfortable.

maybe try getting one of those :P .

My husband used to snore. Turned out he has sleep apnea.

personally, i don't really have much of an issue with noises when i'm trying to sleep.

but i don't like when one part of the room is brighter than the other.
idk if i'm just more sensitive to light than sound or what,
but if the room's dark, and there's bright light coming through the window, then it bothers me. 'cause it's like i can see the light contrast even through my closed eyelids.

Like my alarm clock is digital so i sleep with my back to it so i'm not facing the glow, which even though it's not very bright by itself, feels like it's piercing my eyelids in contrast to the surrounding solid darkness of night like a shining beacon.

but light itself isn't the issue, it's the contrasts that bother me. I could fall asleep in a well-lit room in broad daylight. It's just being in a dark room with lighted areas in the room that bothers me sometimes.

& speaking of lights, is it just me or do fluorescent lights constantly flicker :? ?
