Imagine a world without any technology, and specifically without technology regarded as a tool for entertainment like the Television, your iPod's, mobile phones and possibly your computer/laptop. Would you be able to go without these things for more than a week? Or would you go crazy?

I'd go absolutely mad, without technology I am nothing!

I'm a technophobe, but I'm not a fool. It'd be hard at first, but I'd eventually deal with it, provided there were still non-technical things to do.

YOU WOULD TAKE MY COMPUTERS AWAY....

...what sort of heartless...

NO, I can't survive without technology. Go torment a football player.

Back in the '80s while my wife and I were both working and at least somewhat "socially active", we did well with a manual typewriter and no TV or phone. My own life today is much different, and "technology" offers my only regular connection with any of the world outside the window here on my left.

I don't think anyone in this day and age could live without some form of technology. Unless they were Amish.

I've spent some time in some very remote places where the environment was pristine - no roads, no phones, no cars . I enjoyed it immensely and the most "advanced" technology we had was a single light bulb. I'd have to change my habits a lot, but I think I'd be fine. As long as the conveniences are here though, I'll use them. I enjoy gadgets.

It wasn't so long ago that there were no PC's or mp3 players, people everywhere are addicted to their modern
conveniences, I doubt any one of you could handle few hours away from your PC's without going into withdrawal
symptoms, it rather pathetic whats happening to people in this day and age, its a lost generation with their
asses permanently stuck in a office chair.
I would like to challenge some of the most prolithic posters here to try to prove me wrong and try staying away
from their computer for a day.

I would love it. I believe that a lot of people here would benefit too, as everyone would again be forced to except everyone because there would be no computer or TV screen to hide behind. This probably would take some time to come into affect. I'm sure it would be gut-wrenching to begin with.

As I said, I would deal with it, and in spite of the histrionics of some people in this thread, so would all of you. You would have to.

I use technology practically 100% of the time when I am awake, but even I can see that it's not all there is to life. In fact, in a world devoid of technological entertainment, I might even be happier once I'd taken a few years to adjust, and I'd certainly be more healthy.

On vacation I leave my electronics at home. Except for a simple mobile phone, my car and a radio.
But that was two years ago and only for two weeks. But it is manageable.

It would not be good for my job, since I work in IT. Also I am really bad at writing by hand; using a pen too much is a hell for me.
