I had a knee injury April 13th 2007 (It was a Friday the 13th HINT why I remembered the exact DAY!) After this I had a knee brace, crutches and physical therapy. I mention to the physical therapist it felt like a "Ball" was in my knee he mention it was scar tissue (or some other thing forget exactly what). I have a knee brace thing (black covers the knee) and a cane which I used while walking NY and I've walked a theme park so it "seems" ok but when you least expect it it pops out of socket and that "ball" is still there so it's NOT some scar tissue. I was thinking of requesting an X-ray from my regular doctor and maybe a referral to another Orthopedic doctor. Is this ok? Considering I can do NYC and a theme park (NYC was with brace and cane sometimes both sometimes switching) while theme park is without anything (just watch cracks and watch steps) For the college I'm using the elevators since I don't want to fall down the steps LOL! I see the doctor at the end of October and the knee isn't painful I just wanted another opinion on how it's healing from her and a second opinion from another Orthopedic doctor. What do you guys think? Thanks. (Also to add I've walked crooked and have done now 3 physical therapies 2 for walking oddly and the 1 for the knee injury. I'm not an exercise type so I quit them and never did the exercises at home LOL!) That might seem wrong but that's just how I am I never found the exercises that helpful IMO so ANOTHER physical therapy thing would seem pointless.)

I don't really understand your situation, but if you think there is something still really wrong with your knee then it is not a strange request at all. I do the same thing with my feet.

I think that it's a good request to make, for your doctor.
