2E Child (Twice Exceptional - Autistic / Profoundly Gifted)
A description of a successful ABA therapy graduate. Initially diagnosed as Autistic, he is a 2E child (twice exceptional - In the Autistic Spectrum and Profoundly Gifted). A brief description of his path to enrichment and excellence as laid out by the therapists and by, mostly, his Mother - his chief Instructor.

A very proud father who was once very worried about his son's future. Alex was initially diagnosed with Autism at age three. He was given extensive Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy. It was a free service paid for by our state and provided 35-40 hours in home therapy every week. The program, and especially the staff, worked wonders. Now, (2010) we think he is an Aspie (Asperger's Syndrome - in the Autistic spectrum but Normal to Profoundly Intelligent IQ range). He went from non-verbal till age 3.5 yrs - to fully verbal almost overnight after 6 mos. therapy (starting at age three). His intellectual prowess (especially in math) is due, chiefly, to his Mother - his master instructor.
