My favourite bird, is the Bald Eagle. I love the dark bodies and the white heads. They're also symbols of freedom and America, which is below where I live.

What is your favourite bird?

I've decided not to make this thread a poll, because there are enough polls going around WP.

I like all kinds of birds. One of my favorites is the raven, because I like how it symbolizes mystery and obscurity. I especially took a liking to the raven after reading "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe - so much so that I recently got a tattoo of a raven on my right forearm. 8)

i love the corvids, especially blue jays, gray jays, staellar's jays, magpies, ravens and crows. wait, i think i listed all of them.

also, hummingbirds. i held one in my hand once. it flew in an open window and couldn't escape. it sounded exactly like a bumblebee in the house! he was so quiet in my hands, probably paralyzed with fear.

i am a total bird nerd!

The one between my legs  I have thought about putting some kind of joke like that for my Custom Rank to make fun of the bird theme

Most of what I know about birds are fictional characters in movies & TV shows. I never had a bird as a pet. I guess parrots can be kewl if they quote things like the one from that Family Guy ep where Peter became a pirate

Reeves Pheasant. My dad used to raise game birds as a job, and has raised them (including these pheasants) as a hobby since I was a toddler. He's let a few go in the past, and they tend to hang out around our property.

I used to play with the one we had when I was a toddler. I'd get right up to the netting on the pen and laugh when he frantically rushed at me. I didn't know he was actually trying to kill me. :D That was the meanest reeves that my dad ever dealt with, too. He would keep its spurs cut so it wouldn't dig them into his temples whenever he went into the pen with it. The pheasants we have now are more afraid of people and not so aggressive.

years ago while in the galapagos islands i was able to climb high enough to be able to sit quietly very close to an albatross nest. i learned why they nest close to cliffs. they cannot take off from land so they land only close to cliffs where they can waddle over to the face and jump off. once in the air they are, of course, like dolphins in water.
so the waddle, the jump and then the artistry make them my favorite.

second would be the clown birds of the galapagos, the blue footed boobie. they do not fear humans, so it is sometimes necessary to step over them while on the trails. is verbotten to step off the trails. you vill be 'removed' from the islands. their nests are on the ground. sometimes on the trails. the nest might be a twig laying on the ground. i think they are the beatniks of the bird world.

Wow thats so cool, they are so small and delicate, I am also into birding and love corivids, especially magpies, they
always talk to me and knock on my window if there's no peanuts if the feeder, I sort of feel they are my spirit animal
