My b/w cat has been very affectionate. I love when she comes up, and just sits there and stares at me. I feel admired. lol

Turns out I'm pretty good at it. I mean, I suck compared to someone who knows how to play, but I'm apparently a super advanced beginner. Four and a half decades of full-body drumming as I listen to music apparently translates pretty well to the instrument, lol. My timing is apparently better than most long-time students, something my piano teacher also said.

We were more screwing around than learning to play, but in a few hours I learned several drumming patterns, figured out the verse, pre-chorus, chorus and bridge of a song I particularly like, learned to play them and improvised fills between them. Didn't incorporate the whole kit into my playing, had particular trouble with the hi-hat, but I got a lot farther than most people do in a couple months. Sent home with sticks and orders to buy practice pads and improvise a silent kit and play every day.

Apparently my strength and stamina is "don't even need to work on that". Well, duh. I've been drumming HARD on my knees for decades. My knees are doing less well, lol.

Good to hear. My guitar teacher tells me I'm far ahead most beginning players he's had. Of course they could just be acting polite.

Not too tired at work. At work, litterboxes working. Slept fine. Day laborers didn't bother me. Not raining. No period. Not sick. No off leash dogs. "As Good As It Gets", which ain't that great

My mother was absolutely adorable in her new beret.
I wish I could have told her how beautiful she is.
I think I'll remember it forever.
