I just made a cup of coffee and when I got down with mixing the surger and cremer i was about to turn it off when something more then steam was coming out of the coffee machine. I unplug right away, it was a $15 dollar one that did over a year of yummy service.

I had a toaster do that once- wouldn't switch off and burnt my toast to a red glowing cinder. I also once had a vacuum get all overheated and smoky, and I had to go put it in the snow.

my ex-girlfriend's parents gave me a $150 coffee machine. It makes an amazing cup of coffee and even grinds the beans for you.

As for my Vacum the motor is thermally protected so if it gets to hot it will shut off. The only other coffee machine I can use is in my parents travel/Toy hauler trailer.

One time, I've decided to pop some microwave popcorn. I've followed the exact instructions, but there was smoke coming out of the top of the bag. I opened the bag, and each curnel was burnt to a crisp.
