Here's some things I both like and hate about living in High Point, North Carolina:

Like:

Less crime
Plenty of farms
Lots of beautiful scenery (especially around the lakes, creeks, and walking trails)

Hate:

Lack of special interest clubs
A lot of good businesses either get shut down or outsourced.
Mostly everything here revolves around cars, sports, and military stuff. (I feel like a total outcast here).
The services for autistic people around here (they're either for move severe autistics, little kids, or focused more on "curing" autism).
There's not much people my age to do other than going to the movies, library, and bowling.

What I like about the area I live in is that there's a lot to do here. I live in Arlington, Texas, which is a "suburb" city that has a population of over 300,000 that is located between Dallas and Fort Worth, but you don't need to drive all the way to Dallas or Fort Worth for entertainment because there's already so much entertainment right here.

What I dislike is the climate. The summers are too hot and the winters aren't snowy enough. Plus, my area puts way too much importance on football. There is no public transportation. There is a fast-food joint on practically every street corner, so there's a lot of temptation to eat unhealthily.

I live in Boise, Idaho. As you can see, the cons outweigh the pros, but I can't help but love Idaho anyway. I guess I don't know any better because I've never lived anywhere else.

Like
Beautiful scenery and wildlife
Not crowded or noisy at all
The streets usually aren't busy
Low crime rates for violent crimes such as murder

Dislike
Nothing to do here. It's boring.
The majority of locally-owned businesses are going or have already gone out of business
The public school system is horrible, especially in regards to meeting the needs of children who are autistic and/or mentally ill
Lots of druggies. I hear that the meth and marijuana problems are especially bad here; there was even a meth bust right down the street from my old house!
The fact that a major branch of the Ku Klux Klan used to operate here

I live in Phoenix, AZ. What do I like about this place? Hmm, that's a good question, I'll have to give it some thought. What do I hate about this place? Everything, but most especially the weather. I HATE dry, hot weather. It's so hot you can't go outside. Sure, there are mountains here(I like mountains), but they're so...barren. There's nothing on them except cacti, especially saguaros, those scratchy bushes, brittlebushes, i think they're called, rocks. There're no trees, no green grass, no vegetation, nothing. It's so depressing.

I live in a small rural town. It's my home town. I have lived away enough to truly know that "home is where the heart is".

I like it here because people know me. I don't care if they don't all like me, but I'm known, and that's what's important to me. It freaks me out when I'm in a city where I'm just another nobody in a sea of uncaring people. Plus...when I die...I know there'll be heaps of people at my funeral...

Even though everyone doesn't really like everyone and there are many, many cliques...in times of hardship, trauma and suffering, people tend to step up and support each other. You might see this as two-faced, but it really doesn't bother me at all. I think it means that the locals do care when it comes to the crunch.

I like that it's a great place to raise your kids and the nearest city is only an hour's drive away. This means that the kids can go and have their fix of night clubbing, shopping etc without having to go too far away from home.

There isn't anything I don't like about my home town. I'm not even bothered by the narrow mindedness or small town mentalities.

I'm as happy as a pig in mud here and freak out at the thought of ever having to leave. 8) Hopefully, that will never happen.

I live in [insert coastal regional town], Northern NSW.

Likes:
The climate
The lack of pollution
Our nice clean rivers and water
It's only a 5 minute drive to work
Still small enough where everyone knows each other, yet still big enough to be called a small city

Hates:
It's very boring here
It's turning into another Nimbin in some parts; ferals everywhere
The real estate values
No AS diagnostic services for adults
Not enough shops
Our council is dumb

I'm in Wales atm and I kind of like it. I'm originally from England which is nice but kind of boring, I liked living in the country but it would have been nice to be able to get around more easily without driving (there's no buses). Wales is really pretty with lots of hills and I'm by the sea which is really nice and calming, but there's no real towns/cities near me so sometimes it's annoying if I need to get something! I love the snow though in the winter which you don't get as much in towns.

i live in the outskirts of hooterville. that is not the real name but it might as well be, as it is a glorified wide spot in the road with the surrounding woods containing denizens of outer hooterville.
the good things about outer hooterville are:

*quiet
*not that much traffic

and now the bad things-

*an hour's drive from civilization
*yahoos aplenty- mean unsociable, uncivil neighbors who wouldn't piddle on me if i was on fire
*no public amenities out here- no public swimming pools, movie theatres, malls, shopping aside from the general store down the hill.
*very limited entertainment options- going outside and watching the weeds grow is about it
*all republicans/tea partiers and only me as the lone lefty- see *yahoos aplenty above
*wild animals
*vicious uncurbed barking dogs running wild

too many others to list here

London has too much crime. I'm scared to even go outside a lot of the time.

However, some areas have comparatively low crime (such as the part I live in) and some of it is really cool.

Dislike: There's not much to do. Also, since we don't have public transportation, everyone needs to have a driver's license and car. :(
