‎"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift, and that's why they call it the present."

My friend posted this on FB. I don't agree with all of it. If you schedule tomorrow then it's technically NOT a mystery SURE you don't know how tomorrow will go but if you have it planned it's not a mystery. Yesterday is history follows that age old past in the past mentality which since I've made so many life mistakes at only 24 history IS NOT HISTORY! It's NOT IN THE PAST IMO. Oh and today's a gift NO! Not if it's another day of saying/doing something wrong making some social mistake DAMN IT!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !

You know what else I found on facebook that I agree with?

Quote:
Your status updates are annoying. Pointlessly, pathetically, painfully annoying.

Look, nobody cares about your pretend crops, or your pretend animals on your pretend farm. And unless you’re really in the Mafia, all whacking should be done behind closed doors and kept to yourself. And sorry to break it to you, but you’re not actually hot enough to have stalkers. So nobody really cares where you’ve checked in. We also don’t care: how yummy your dinner was, how difficult your workout was, or how amazing your boyfriend or girlfriend is.

Feeling incredibly blessed? Having the worst day ever? Either way, how about you elaborate and entertain us with some genuinely interesting details instead of just teasing us with that pointlessly vague cryptic crap that makes us wonder what the hell actually happened.

Newsflash: we all hate Mondays, we all love weekends, and we don’t mean to be insensitive but neither Jesus Christ nor your recently deceased relatives are actually on Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter. So talking to them via status updates doesn’t actually work. And just so you know, you can’t try to be deep, intellectual, or philosophical when your spelling and grammar makes you look like a third grade dropout. So please, stop poisoning the web with your mind-effing drivel. Put some thought and/or creativity into your next status update, and make it informative and/or entertaining to those who read it. Because this message is your official notification that your status updates are f*****g annoying.

Two Buddhist monks were walking along the road.
They came to a stream where a young woman couldn't cross without spoiling her shoes and her dress.

One monk picked the woman up and carried her across the stream.

They kept walking. An hour later the second monk said "What were you thinking? You know we are not allowed to touch women".

The first monk said "I put the woman down an hour ago. Are you still carrying her?"

It means that the first monk is living in "present time" while the second monk is worrying about the past.

It's just a cliche, I hear it all the time. It's not meant to be taken literal or seriously, it's just one of those positive sayings to get people going.

If the Christian God exists He is by definition on Facebook, what with being a) omniscient and b) immanent in us as the Holy Spirit; sending a message to God via Facebook is on the same level as spoken prayer - not actually necessary, but it may help organise your thoughts.

Stupid quote, but accurate in a roundabout way - quick trawl suggests present "this time" and present "gift" are from the same root; the prefix pre- in present is "before", as in "this time before you" or "this gift before you."

Plans are great and I make them too. But tomorrow is still a mystery regardless of how well you plan for it. Plans don't always work out. Things happen that you have no way of predicting. You can be driving to your destination and somebody runs a red light and T-bones you. There go your plans.

lol yeah. "Live each moment as your last" is not good advice either, I'd be homeless pretty fast.
