This January is going to be different from last January. I've given up on high hopes. The last time I had high hopes, someone croaked on me, instead of a band that I like getting back together. The last time I had high hopes of a perfect year, one or two things went wrong every month for 10 months straight. As 2010 becomes 2011, I really have to think about this. That's why I plan to have realistic hopes for 2011

Does anybody else have realistic hopes for 2011?

Do well in my final year of school, and not go insane.

The best thing I ever have done is to make NO PLANS. That way, people don't s**t on them.

THATS REALISTIC.

My hopes are to stop spending money on things that I don't need, and to follow the Canada Food Guide six times a week. I also plan to go into my volunteer job every week, unless I'm really sick. These are my realistic hopes and plans for the coming year.

Get a job. I started working with an employment agency rite before the holidays started & they talk like they move fairly fast.

Pay off my debt. I ran up a lot a couple years ago because of medical expenses & health insurance that I was continuing under COBRA that was costing $300 a month. I transferred debt to a credit-card with a fixed rate of 3.99% & it was about $9,500 after the transfer fees & stuff. It's about $4,800 now. If I were to get a job; my disability wouldn't be cut for 9 months so my goal would be to have it paid off by then. The minimum payment is about $70 but I don't like owing money

I want to get married and have four kids. Or I want to have more passion for the things I do, no matter no matter how small it is. Sometimes, it feels like I am just punching the clock.

I think I'd like to, ah, "share a bed" (wink wink, nudge nudge) at some point next year. That doesn't seem too terribly unrealistic. More of a "that'd be nice" than a hope, though. As for hopes, I hope not to burn out as a result of my current job/lifestyle.

Only sometimes? Well, you've already got me beat.

One year... I made the new years resolution not to swear... Trouble is I have coprolalia (involuntary swearing) so I kind of broke that one in about three seconds of making it. This year my resolution is to follow the ways of 'f**k it!' (its a funny book which tells you to just say f**k it and do it anyway!)

There will be no trying to change myself: at my age I figure I'm just a force of nature, anyway. Instead I plan to take a look at all the unused applications on my various pieces of electronic equipment, try them out and maybe start using a few more before the said equipment dies/obsolesces. Surely that's do-able.
