I have been amazed at the growth of WP over the years since I joined in 2008.

I am wondering what would happen if all 75,000 members tried to log in here at once and begin posting?

Well...how many of those 75,000 members are active members? There are thousands of members who have never posted or posted just a few times and left. Maybe they still lurk, I don't know. And there may be some/many with more than one account/username? But really, how many of us are here that are active members?

It was quite smaller when I joined, too. 8O

I am one of those 75,000 among here; I'm just kicking myself over not joining or finding about this site earlier.

Should inactive accounts be deleted?

Maybe not deleted, in case the person decides to come back. But maybe they could put some kind of flag on which shows when someone has not logged in for a set period of time - say 6 months. Then you know that they are inactive, and there must be a way from there to calculate the number of active users on the site.

That's a good plan. Someone should forward that to a mod
and in turn, the mod can forward it to Alex.

When I first joined in the July of 2004, I never thought we'd get up to 75,000 members. I've also been wondering what would happen if everybody logged on and posted at the same time. It would be fun to see WP go at a fast pace again. :)

Whoa.

It was only 70,000+ when I first joined - and that was only a few months ago.

Hi there, all 75,000+ plus of you.

I'm sure MySQL would cut out before the server itself did.

This site appears to have reliabillity issues sometimes as it as, if 75,000 or even half that tryed to log on and post it would for sure crash.
