So if you are bored I thought I would harness your boredom into advice for my blog

Do I have too many colors? or not enough?
Would different colors be better, if so which ones?
Do I have too many items in the sidebar detracting attention attention away from post?

Ect.. give me your thoughts on this:

Thanks.

hiya! your blog looks better than some other blogs i've seen. i like the light print on dark background, which is very easy on the eyes. what i would change would be minor details, such as putting the "recent comments" in a graphically segregated section to reduce some visual complexity, as it is uncomfortably close to the "labels" section, and to this aspie's eyes requires more effort to keep my eyes in the right place. at the least i would draw a line between the two sections to make it easy to keep 'em separate, as some folk have difficulties with this type of visual task. a minor quibble.

Personally, I think you do have a few too many colours, but it isn't disgusting or anything.

The color combination at the top of the page makes me a little dizzy, but if I scroll down to where "The Meatyard: Considered Erudite by Four out of Five Popes" is no longer visible, it passes. So I'd change the color or colors there. And I agree with auntblabby. All of the text on the right side seems a bit messy/distracting (where the labels and comments are right next to each other), but not terribly--just a bit. Otherwise, I think it looks good. I like the light colors of the text.

Can you get rid of the center column? The one where the "Labels" are seems like a huge sacrifice for the entire pages real estate. If someone needs to use tags or search, have it as an optional tool hanging on the wall somewhere, not something you have to walk around.
OH - and do you need the font to be so big in the recent comments?
Keep at it - I like the colors myself.
That's my two scents.

Thanks for all the advice.

I made the recent comment text small.
I got rid of the bright sub-sub-caption at the top as well as one of the colors.
I moved most of the links to a separate page.
I made the label cloud less messy by using a list format and alphabetizing.
I added delimiters (borders) in between the posts and the two side bars.
Now the middle side bar is for navigation and following/subscribing purposes and the far right side bar is for displaying comments, quotes and links to other blogs. I didn't remove the middle side bar because I wanted to be able to organize it that way with two separate bars.

Here it is now, let me know what you think, or any other suggestions you have, can't promise I will follow them though :)

Thanks.
