Are they a covert Chinese invasion force, or could they in fact be a sign of the Apocalypse? And are they lurking in YOUR house, perhaps trapped by the lure of your ceiling light, only awaiting warm weather to burst out of hiding???

Discuss. Let us know how many you've caught. What works for you? Do you crush them, flush them, or keep a collection?

I prefer to keep a collection.

I find some stinkbugs to be quite pretty. I've not found any in my apartment, though. If I did, I would move them outside and thoroughly clean my apartment. If this didn't work, I would eventually resort to killing the critters.

Pretty.

My grandpa gets em in his field a lot. I think their part of a plan to reduce the surplus human population by increasing world hunger by eating crops

@Kaybee - Oh. Yeah, those are pretty...I like the red ones. :) I was thinking of an invasive species that's been swarming the mid-Atlantic states the past couple of years - I didn't know we had native ones.

I'm in Northern Virginia and live in single family home. No stink bugs here. I work in Washington DC and no stink bugs in the offices either. My grandma's house has stink bugs. She finds them every once in a while. For the past 2 years she has saw them inside her home mainly around Nov-Dec. She's in Central New Jersey. I thought stink bugs like heat more. I don't know much about them. I HATE bugs. :x

They like to come inside in the winter. There weren't any that I saw in '09, but last summer they were everywhere. If I hear one land (they're noisy, slow, stupid things), there's no peace until I find, catch, and dispose of the thing. Don't mind bugs usually, but these things...ugh!

This past year, yes. I don't think they were around here before then - or not enough to be a bother.

No way to stop the stink bugs either right? I know that bed bugs also have been an issue especially in the DC area. Stinkbugs can be found anywhere single family home, town home, apartment, condo?

Pennsylvania particularly the Susquehanna Valley is infested with the critters. I suspect it is because bats and certain birds are declining in numbers.

I was riding an atv and had a stink bug hit me in the front tooth causing the bug to explode in my mouth. 8O It tasted like rancid onions and plastic. Blurg :P

Never crush them! It's bad luck! You'll shortly smell stink! Just let them walk away with their guts intact.
