He says "but I paid $500 for that!"
Once upon a time, my husband bought a two-screen DVD player system that goes in the car. Apparently he spent more than I would be comfortable with because he only told me how much he paid now that the thing is going bubye for a price that's 10% of what he paid. Do I get credit that it sold for twice the actual value? Come on now! Yeah, you overpaid for this stupid thing but cars all have built in DVD systems now so the value is, like, nothing. It's amazing I sold it. And, you know, people paid quite a bit for the first Playstation when it came out, too. Nowadays you have to pay people to take your PS1. This is technology. It's a crap resale market. I'm just thrilled the DVD system is out of my house.
Now if he'll only let me freecycle the VCR...
