Networking, connections... or maybe more like the lack of them? I read an article about that stuff this morning from a news paper while in the library, and it got me thinking about those things again... For a long time, and honestly, somewhat even now, words like "networking" and "connections" sound like something bad people do, unfair things that people use to get things they don't really deserve and only end up getting because they've sucked up to the right people. In that article though, it's seen as a normal thing, and networking in itself is seen as the work put in to things that makes one deserve the things they get... I don't know, maybe that is the case. Like, it's not the kind of hard work that I would think of when someone says to work hard to get something, but since it's how society works... if you can't win, switch sides, you know? I mean, I kinda already have on occasions, so I suppose that makes me a bit of a hypocrite to judge someone who gets things through their connections instead of working for them.
...Eh, guess the thing I'm most pissed off is about having clung to my morals too much instead of playing the game the way others do from the start.
