Whenever I'm playing a computer game or video games, I tend to press on the buttons really hard. It takes me a long time before I realize that pressing the buttons hard won't make a difference since its either you pressed the button or you didn't, its not like driving a car and pressing the gas/brakes. I think I do this because I tend to get so "into" the game that I forgot that the keyboards on the computer is an on/off thing.

I think I sometimes even tilt my body when I'm turning or going through a curve in the game.

When I am agitated or "wound up" about something, my wife occasionally reminds me to go easy on my keyboard ...!

When I play games I absolutely mash the buttons, even though I know it's not going to make it go any faster . It's just a natural thing I can never get out of.

I too tilt my body, and make dodging movements when flying a jet on Battlefield: Vietnam. I nearly fall off my chair from following the jet going upside-down .

I've got one keyboard with the letter 'G' missing due to "typing" too hard. Mainly when some crappy software annoys the hell out of me... typically when programs like Microsoft Word try to "help" me with my documents by doing things automatically that I then have to spend time undoing. The more I have to wrestle with unruly software the more I bash the keys and curse the software aloud! :x

I used to do the same thing back in my video game playing days.

Yes, I've done this when playing computer games as well.. Actually, I often push hard on some of buttons on my keyboard since some of the keys are stuck and have to do such to use certain letters.I plan on getting a bettery keyboard tomorrow though, like you I probaly tap the keys to harshly... This may be a sensory issue though, it's hard to say so, I'll leave it at this for the time being...

I did that too. My N64 controllers were trashed because I was too hard on the buttons and joysticks.

i do this, with my keyboard i don't really notices it until my keyboard starts to make a creaking sound. I had to quit playing my gameboy because it made my thumbs hurt from doing that

I usually press the buttons very hard when the stakes get higher or I'm worried about not doing so well

I do that; I think it's mostly a tactile thing for me. Something about the excess pressure of fingers on keys helps solidify the idea/fact that I'm interacting with something that I'm seeing on a screen in front of me. Or something like that...

Have you seen those movies with airplanes & noticed how they pull the wheel/joystick thing back harder when they are crashing :?

I occasionally when upset with a bad game mechanic will actually slam buttons just to make sure and prove a point to myself that it is in fact the game mechanics that are failing and not my fingers .

I naturally don't press the buttons very hard though... unless the buttons are using pressure sensitivity :?. I do have an issue with D-pads though... I press those hard for some weird reason and hurt my thumbs... thank awesomeness that most games don't use those for movement anymore :P.

I both hammer away at the keyboard/controller when angry, and tilt when doing curves. I've also tried to see around the corners in a game! lol

this happens to NTs too, unconsciously. we are only made conscious when our thumbs hurt or already having finger cramps hehe.. depends on our mood or how hard we are playing the game.. :)
