Ha. Well really modern society is geared towards solo activities - you're spoilt for choice? Imagine if you were socially awkward back in the day yet had to keep with a group for your mere survival. That would suck. Nowadays you can just live in a nice place alone, order online groceries and play video games and learn about life through the internet. Works for and against some people with introverted personalities.
Why don't you just watch movies at home on a big widescreen television? They're cheap enough these days. I'm kind of confused with your opening sentence of saying you feel like you're trapped because you have noone to do things with yet you then say "It's a pity that so many things in life are group activities"..it's not the same. i get really absorbed at the cinema. Kinda love the food too
so go alone. a lot of people in Canada do that, and i can't imagine it is that different overseas. especially on the less busy non-date times, like weeknights or a matinee. or at the movies that are not new releases.
next time yo go to see a movie, have a look around at how many people are there alone.... they are quieter than groups and slip under the radar so you've probably never noticed them sitting there by themselves.
