Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) was born the same month as the passing of Haley’s Comet back in 1835. The comet passed the earth, 10th November. Twain was born 30th November.

Haley’s comet passes the earth in 75 year cycles.

The comet next passed the earth on the 20th of April 1910. Mark Twain passed away on the 21st April 1910...

In the Prado, the most famous museum in Spain, is a famous portrait gallery.
Maurice Ravel, a young composer spent hours there, enjoying the beauty and, possibly seeking inspiration.
He became fascinated by the portrait, over a hundred years old, of a hauntingly lovely princess of the Spanish royal family.
He wrote 'Pavane For A Dead Princess' for her, and it became the most-loved melody of its day, and made him him famous throughout all Europe.
I always believed that as he wrote the Pavane he imagined her dancing slowly to his music, turning to him, and smiling her gratitude......

Also recorded some music and should be recording today too in a few hours. Still trying to get some musical folk together. Got a guitarist who's willing as well now.
Annoyingly my silly phone has the files trapped in an email. Jim has em tho.
Will see if I can't post today's jam but I doubt it without a pc

Almost every detail in the epic poem about Paul Revere is wrong.
For one thing, he did not call out "the British are coming", since this was pre-revolutionary USA, everyone was a British citizen. He may have said "the Regulars are coming", referring to the British army. He did not shout it out as he considered his mission one of secrecy. He was not alone, and by the end of the night it is estimated that some 40 revolutionaries were riding throughout the Concord area with the warning that the British army was on the way.

Managed to upload the aforementioned jam to youtube. Sound quality is terrible and it's pretty sloppy but expressive nonetheless..

The Volkswagen was modeled on the Ford Model T. Adolf Hitler admired Henry Ford, and his concept of a 'people's car'. Hitler held engineering trials where german car makers displayed their versions of what Hitler wanted in such a car. One of these still exists and can be seen in San Diego, USA. The Nazi government collected down payments from citizens who wanted to purchase one of these "people's cars". Far from being a cynical money grab, the Nazis kept the accounts intact, and they were found after Berlin fell.

It's a little known fact that the jet engine was invented during WWII.
Both the German engineers and the British were able to design and put into the air jet powered aircraft. The British used theirs to pace some of the German "doodlebug" bombs and actually tip them off balance so they would crash into the channel. The Germans fielded theirs late into the war and much twaddle has been written about them. Almost all of the crack German pilots were killed off by then, and the jet engines were extremely high maintenance, meaning they spent a lot of time in the workshop. The truth though is that Hitler totally misunderstood the plane's capabilities and insisted it be converted into a bomber.
After the war the USA brought the German planes back and studied them carefully, since they were still producing propellor aircraft.

Time travel is possible within physics due to relativity. The amount that time differs is given by 1/√[1-(v^2/c^2)] where v is the speed your going and c is the speed of light, 3*10^8, so at 99.99% the speed of light the answer to the equation is 100. This means for every one day you experience 100 days will happen on earth!! !! ! Also due to the fact that space and time are the same, called space-time, space must change. From the perspective of someone else you will be 100 times smaller and you going at 99.99% the speed of light will see the universe 100 times smaller.
