yschan is part of a long term goal towards the launch of Yotsuba Society or The Society for the Study and Preservation of Yotsuba Society. The purpose of the society is for the study and preservation of the history and culture of the modern imageboard culture of sites such as 1chan, 4chan, and the like. yschan (or The Yotsuba Society Boards) will be basically similar to 4chan but it will be in a different direction than what 4chan is.

I wanted to launch Yotsuba Society because I felt like I know a lot more than 4chan than the average /b/tard or average user. Not to mention the fact that it's 4chan can be improved with a lot, or even modernize. A few friends of mine then told me: Why not make your own. With that I decided to create my own imageboard site, one where I make the decisions.

Currently I have two boards launched, /ys/ will be for the discussion and preservation of the imageboard culture. While /gs/ will be for general stuff: Basically general discussion about anything, including news and current events. I've already set the interim board rules, and the board rules.

Normally, I would plan to launch the boards and the entire Yotsuba Society website on early March. But due to various circumstances I'm going to launch the board now.

(On major thing about imageboards and yschan, while you can use a name and tripcode to post, its completely unnessarry unless it's important to the discussion or important to the topic of the board.)

I'm not very familiar with 4chan. Is it anything like 99chan :?:

It's for the preservation and study of the history and culture or imageboards such as 4chan and 99chan.

No, I'm hoping yschan will bring what 4chan doesn't bring.

It's the idiocy that makes 4chan the legend that it is.

if it does take off you need to be prepared to remove all the illegal/sick porn that will be posted on it... or face legal issues. Just FYI.

I'm fully aware of that.

I don't think anybody cares what gets posted on those boards as long as it isn't child porn and threats.

That's the rezone a lot people go to sites like that; for the borderline illegal stuff. One of the most popular things about 99chan was their section for fakes of Disney gulrs(before anyone thinks I'm perverted; some of my online friends talk about that stuff. I like pop music & have a very offensive sense of humor & perverts are more accepting of that. I'm a borderline asexual)

I thought it was legendary because it's where anonymous started.

Well that and all the wonderful memes.

There is always the other side of 4chan that many people do not know, it's the other boards outside of /b/. It's truely a treasure trove of pictures and information about various topics.

4chan has a reputation for being a breeding ground of absolute idiots, I don't think you can generate anything positive from that site.

Yes it is. As in the same general culture. But 4chan is larger and more crappy than 99chan. And I say that with a bias AGAINST 99chan......

"Anonymous" started on Futaba Channel, a Japanese imageboard. Moot just ripped off he idea and source code and tweaked it to work in English.

A site like 4chan but with less idiocy? So basically you're going to put up a blank webpage.

Actually, Futuba doesn't even have anything to do with Anon.
