How do you get such a small picture to use as a avatar?

Every single picture I have has been rejected for being too large, but there are so many other users here with nice avatars.

I had to compress mine quite a bit (in JASC Animation Shop) to get the filesize small enough, but it still looks pretty darn nice.

Even mine fits, and it's a PNG avatar that comes under the limit.

It is very easy to do. :)
