Was 2006 a long time ago now? If not then when do you think it will start to be a long time since that year?

I think it may vary from person to person, but to myself, 2006 seems like a previous life.

Logically, I want to say that when a decade has passed, it will be a long time ago. But when I think about what I was doing in 2006, it could be 100 years ago or just last week.

That's an interesting question. Up until 2006 no year seemed like a long time ago to me, for about 22 years, because I never thought about the past. That year I started to have alot of stress and started to have health problems, then I started to try to get back to that point of feeling okay.

Now, 2006 seems like another lifetime ago. But, if you had asked me in 2006 if 2001 was a long time ago, it would have seemed like yesterday to me.

As long as I felt the same, I didn't have much sense of time, it was like I was forever in the present only looking forward to the future.

So, I guess my answer to your question, is it depends completely on the individual, whether they think about the past, miss something in the past, or are trying to escape something from the past, or many other factors that might be involved.

Also, I think age is relevant too. When I was 21, 16 seemed like another lifetime ago, but my circumstance and perspective of self were much different.

Also, I think I have more of a sense of the past and time when I visit somewhere I have not been in a very long time. I guess alot of it has to do with change, memory, and imagination, because there really is no such thing as the past or future, just our memory or imagination of it.

To me, 2006 seems like it was a long time ago due to all the changes that I've gone through. I'm not the same person that I was back than.

It's all relative.
But considering who is asking... if you're worrying about something that cropped up in 2006, don't worry about it.

For me, even this morning is now "a long time ago", and I am being quite serious there.

In 2006, I was starting my freshman year of high school. In 2011, I'm in college. That being the case, 2006 does seem like a long time ago for me.
