Yes, this is a thread about the weather.

There were supposed to be thunderstorms here last night, and it didn't even rain. It hasn't rained for weeks and weeks. The last two months have apparently been the driest on record in my area.

The ground is all cracked, the lawns are yellowing, plants are flowering early and look shorter than normal.

Its depressing. I don't like heat, and I MISS rain.

Can someone do a raindance for east anglia please.

Is the weather normal where you are? Or has Suffolk just been cast into the inferno?

I love the rain too. Luckily, I live in an area (in)famous for its abundance of rainfall. It's been raining all day, quite a bit, and I love it.

I know the feeling Henbane it actually rained over here and it was such a wonderful relief to feel the freshness of moisture in the air again and the plants all started to stand taller again.

Had bugger all thunder storms though, i was looking forward to that

Thats the first rain we've had in over a month! Didn't realise suffolk missed out I thought all of the south east was going to get rain

I forgot just how dry and humid it can get around here sometimes, i'm too used to the fresh wind and abundance of rain from living in the peak district and the sheffield area for the last 6 years. I'm still not used to the summers around here yet they get far too hot for my liking

Me too. We had sun a couple days ago and I was tired of it very quickly. If we have any extra I'll be sure to send some to you. ;)

I like mountains and valleys a lot, so I like it here. :D

You think you don't get much rain? I live in a desert.

Edit: I can't wait for global warming to fix that (yes, global warming would lead to increased rainfall and shrinking of deserts).

I will swap. Anyone complaining about rainfall can come and live here. We actually have a desalination plant because our water supply gets critically low over summer and we have strict water conditions including not being able to water your garden unless you use a bucket and only on certain days of the week. 8O

No, we've not had a drop of rain here in weeks. We had 2.2mm on April 15th. Which was half the total rain for April. Is there some god of rain that is punishing us for not doing the appropriate sacrifices?

When it does finally rain, I'm going to go out in my garden and get as wet as possible. I might even do it naked. My neighbours all think I'm bats anyway.

I miss the north too. Greenery and dampness. Although I do love Suffolk. I just wish it would rain!

I propose Nick Clegg be our human sacrafice

I've been to your part of the world too. My grandparents lived in Reno.

The problem is, around here its agricultural. I am surrounded by fields of oil seed rape, wheat and vegetables. We have orchards and vineyards. Its just not normal for us to have so little rain. The crops are starting to suffer. Plus we have lots of pig farms near me, the ground is all dry and dusty, and they love their mud. :)

I'm used to it raining every day. I'm a fan of peat bogs. Ground should squelch when you walk on it.

Wow, I wouldn't like that. I have lots of vegetables in my garden, I don't have a hosepipe, but if I could only water on certain days my seedlings would die. :(

I thought that happened already...

I'm almost beginning to feel sorry for him, he looks so dejected all the time.

Could we not sacrifice Cameron instead? And Osborne, as part of a buy one get one free deal?

8O I would die in that kind of weather. Spending a day in the Sahara desert in Egypt was bad enough, and to top it off it was only winter season

you don't die but you spend an awful lot of time in the pub. We were also having brownouts because too many peeps had their air cons on full bore.
