...in the future? Or at least you think it might be legal in the future?

An example from the past is with regard to homosexuality. There was a time when sexual activity between any two homosexuals was a criminal offense. Then, it was decriminalized in many countries and after a period of time, the trend to recognize same-sex marriage started.

So whats gonna be next? Or has the trend to legalize (or criminalize) things stopped?

I think one possible thing that has a chance of being legalized in the future might be polygamy. Another is adults smoking various drugs.

One possible thing that will become illegal is to hold negative views on homosexuality (so pretty much it is considered hate speech to preach it as a sin, I have already heard of news, I think in England, where some person was charged with hate speech or something, for talking about homosexuality in a negative way).

Another possible thing that will be illegal is to publicly show support for terrorist groups (designated as terrorists by the country of course), I think currently, its only illegal if you show the symbols (or flags) of terror groups or financially support them or if you CLEARLY incite violence and killing of civilians. (So for example if someone says they support Hamas I think its legal while if they gave money to them or say "exterminate the Jews" its illegal.)

So what to you think? Any ideas on what may become legal (or become illegal) in the future?

If the hate for mexican's and arabs go up, the hate level for homosexuals goes down. If people hate the drug cartels sneaking in so much marijuana, perhaps its ok to make it here. If China is beating the US in economy, perhaps its ok to do away with unions.

For every action, theres a reaction. The world simply runs on hate, rules run on hate, and hate runs on fear. If we where suddenly overrun by flesh eating zombies, well.. you've seen the movies, rules go out the window. And the only safe haven left is London.. now thats scary. Who can afford to live in London?! But seriously, if zombies came, laws would be more lax and people would be more understanding....

I can only hope that the United States comes to its senses and legalizes same-sex marriage while I'm still young.

Do you have any link to a story like that? I don't think the U.K. hate speech laws go so far as to prosecute people for expressing their religious convictions. I've already read of two instances wherein charges against people for preaching against homosexuality were dropped.

Cannabis. They have no right to ban a plant.

They already are.

I wouldn't be surprised if the smoking ban is relaxed eventually.

Good. Free speech should be much more protected than it actually is. Anti-Islamists are often prosecuted for speaking their minds.

Heroin and cocaine should be legal, by this logic.

This is not a good argument for legalizing marijuana. This is a good argument for making alcohol and tobacco illegal.

I don't think either should be illegal.
