kitten and kid
I don't have children, but I have had a husband with a lot of unpredictable and loud behaviour (result of a head injury). I've also had a lot of kittens in my time.
A lot depends on the kitten. When you choose your kitten go for the most confident one, the one that comes up to you with no fear. Choose one from a home where it has already been exposed to loud noises, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, and small children, and is well handled and used to people already.
Kittens can be very sensitive to noise and unexpected occurences, as well as rough handling. If they are shy by nature they may grow up to be very nervous, hesitant, or aggressive cats if they are treated roughly as kittens. They need as stable a environment as possible, with gentle affection. No tail pulling.
I have 3 cats at the moment, and another that has just died. The three that grew up in a relatively quiet, stable environment are confident and trusting. My youngest cat grew up with my husband, and was very jumpy and anxious while we still lived together. Since my husband and I split up he has gradually settled, but is still quite jumpy, and doesn't trust anyone apart from me. He hides upstairs when someone knocks at the door.
So, I'm not really sure if a kitten is right for your family or not. But I hope this helped a bit.

Ya even human kids if handled roughly can become aggressive and jumpy...well thats my case
so i understand that kittens have to be treated well and no tail pulling
i guess my son would be rough initially it will take time because he is not used to pets around
but slowly he will adjust.
