I bought 'The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome by Tony Atwood' and I found a spelling mistake on paragraph three on page 145: "...thoughts of the person with Asperger's syndrome to enable him ore" her to use self-control."
The word "ore" as in metal ion ore. It can't be an American English spelling can it? I bought my copy at Waterstones book shop when I was in London.
See my copy: http://img199.imageshack.us/i/imagezvx.jpg/

I'm being geeky, I'm bored.

Whenever I notice a factual mistake in a book, I always email the author or her/his publisher. They're usually grateful for the feedback. But I've never done it for spellings.

To be even more geeky about it - likely just a typo.
The letter "E" is immediately to the left of the letter "R" on a QWERTY keyboard, so it seems more a mis-keying of "or" than a mis-spelling of it.
That would have been more obvious if whoever typed it up had hit "D" or "T" instead.

Tons of grammatical errors in Asperger's Syndrome: A Guide for Parents and Professionals.

There were a couple of mistakes with homonyms, but I can't recall exact examples.

It is more likely, that the o and the r were in the wrong order, and the auto-spelling function in the publishing software corrected them as ore, and two teams of proof readers, and a sub-editor missed it.

Someone needs to link this thread in the "You Know You're An Aspie When..." thread. It would be perfect.
