I have two cats. I've had them for 7 years. I love them. I'm moving though, into one room in a house. One of my cats will be fine with this, she could live in one room and not be bothered, but the other one can't do this. When I leave her in a small space she destroys things. She destroyed some of my sheet music that I can't get back.

So I'm trying to rehome one of my cats. I posted an ad online, and I've already gotten a response. I'm really nervous though, because I've read warnings that people use pets they got from free ads like mine for abuse, or even for scientific testing. The person who responded to the ad didn't volunteer any information about themselves, just wanted to know when and where to pick up the cat, so I e-mailed them back to ask some questions.

I love this cat dearly. I feel horrible about having to rehome her, and if she ends up in a place where she will be hurt, I would not be able to forgive myself.

I want her to go to a happy home, where she is loved and she will forget about me and be happy with her new mommy or daddy.

Has anyone had to rehome an animal and it turned out well?

There probably will be someone on here that would take your cat, depending on your location

Well I'm an hour's drive from Toronto, Ontario. If anyone from Southern Ontario can give her a good home, they can PM me and I'll tell them what city I live in.

This is her.

I personally wouldn't trust anyone who responds to an add.

Is there not an animal shelter or animal charity near by you could give her to? Or if there is anywhere online or friends in real life who could put feelers out for you to find her a good home. She's a sweetie, I'm sure someone will give her a home.

I've contacted several cat rescues and they all said they only rescue feral cats and don't have room to also take other peoples pets.

Some friends are putting out feelers for me, but I move in less than 2 weeks, so I need to find her a good home fast.

The last cat I had I got it by a newspaper ad. A family was giving away lityle kittens. I replied to the ad and went to their house to pick it up. Alex was part of our family for a long time and we loved him very much. I think you should trust. Maybe you are just trying to fibd excuses because you do not want to give him away. And that is understandable because you love him. I dont think you should distrust that person for not wanting to provide personal info to a stranger. Nowadays few people would do such a thing. The do not have any reason to trust you either. Just try to relax and do the right thing.
