That in itself is great and all....and the guy shes marrying is a good guy too.....but his name...oh his name.

First off, shes twice as Jewish asI am because shes half German as opposed to my quarter. Her family still practices shabbat, the passover and the other celebrations. And this guy shes marrying...his name is Rudy Hitler. LMAO. WHAT! The last name Hitler seems almost mythological but I never ever thought i'd meet somebody named that.

Congratulations on your cousin getting married. This link should be posted in The Things You Can't Win In thread, because of what the guy's last name is. That would be hilarious.

This is a slightly confusing sentence; was your German grandparent a German Jew?

This is slightly confusing how he phrased it, but there are German Jews.

Albert Einstein perhaps?

No, I know there are German Jews...
I was asking if his grandparent was a German Jew, not just a German.

Your wondering if he has a preconception that all Germans are in fact Jews? But the likely choice is that his family comes from german jews, so he knows his cousins ancestors are also german jews. Then again he may have not taken into account that his cousin's second parent (not related to him) may have been german but not jewish. So if he thinks his cousin is 50% german jew, she may in fact just be - still 25% jewish, although 50% german.

Where the hell did you get that from? There are Germans who are not Jewish.

Seems like a very trollish post, so I shall not say any further and proceed to laugh.

Yes my grandmother (mothers side) was a German Jew. She fled to Lithuania with her family where they obtained visa's from a kind hearted Japanese ambassador to flee to Japan (which was a safe haven for Jews). She is one of 6000 Jews who were able to escape the Holocaust to Japan.
