Don't you just hate it when they change bus services?!

I've been a regular passenger on the same bus for 4 years now, and now I've read in the newspaper that they're suddenly changing all the bus times, without giving much notice, nor giving out any new timetables to tell us the new times. I find it so hard to adapt to new changes as it is, especially them keep changing the buses about. Even NTs don't like changes with buses.

But does anyone else here get worked up when you hear about buses being changed? (This preferably applies to bus-users).

Difficulty in adapting to change in routine is a common trait for people with AS, and I'm no different. Buses are always late, but it's nice to know when they're supposed to arrive.

That bugs me too, but I think the worst thing around where I live is noticing that certain big routes have been changed to not run on weekends :|

Tell me about it.

What is the time frequency of bus service in your area?

In my area, most buses arrived every 15 minutes, now it's every 20 minutes.

I've used the bus systems in two cities, Minneapolis and Reno. The system in Minneapolis is great if you need to get somewhere in the city. If you need to get somewhere in a suburb, be prepared to walk a few miles. Some bus routes, if I remember correctly (I haven't lived there since 2004), stop running at about 1AM and don't resume until 6 or so.

The system in Reno blows. The route that I used most often stopped running at 9PM, and to get pretty much anywhere, you have to take two buses: one to the central hub in downtown, then transfer to a second bus. There's a route in Minneapolis that conveniently goes through all the most popular places, through uptown and downtown and a district with lots of grocery stores, but there's no route like that in Reno.

I recently moved to Oklahoma City, and I suppose I'll become acquainted with the bus system here eventually, but I'm unemployed and living with my parents and rarely get out, so it's not a pressing concern right now.

Buses here have been changed so two buses that go to where my boyfriend lives, the local supermarket and the job centre have been taken-off or re-routed, one also makes it easier for my boyfriend to get home and to get into work.

What's worse though; there are at least THREE buses that go through my neighbourhood once an hour, but these are express buses so they go from point A to point B without stopping in the middle, in other words they go through my neighbourhood but don't stop!

Bus drivers also don't know the name of my bus stop so I ask them for 'xxxx shops' which covers my stop and the stop before which is named after the church - they get mad if you don't get off at the stop before mine. There's then variation in cost between £1.10 to £2.00 for the same trip, or £2.00 for a trip to a different place that's twice as far away. This means nothing to you, but trust me it's annoying!
