I like cats but I do allergy, that's the reason I don't own a cat.
If I go to peoples who have a cat, I play with it.

I have loved cats since I was tiny. I've always had a cat from the first minute I could. I have two now.

I have four cats and one dog.
All the cats have different personalities. The oldest one is the king, of course.

There have been times when I thought I was at least part cat. I love them, too.

I lost my favorite cat of all time, last fall. We still have a small dog, now, but my daughter wants another cat. Maybe someday, soon.

My mom has 12 cats, now. At one time after taking in several strays and birthing several litters, she had 27 cats in her house. My dad was a patient man. She actually was afraid of them, before I brought one home when I was about 13. She lost her fear, I guess.

My sympathy over your favorite cat. I know how that feels. My mother feared and disliked cats until a special one walked into her life. Now he is like a baby to her.

Thanks.

It was not a good day, for several reasons, but my daughter, who was 4 at the time saw him get hit by a car. He died in my arms. She still talks about him every day, almost a year later. He was a special friend who had been around for some rough times and he helped to keep me sane. I had him for 14 years and he was at least 4 when I got him at a shelter.

He was a big old grumpy baby, at times (19 lbs of spoiled rotten majesty) but he was my best friend for years. Remembering Rocky, the boxing cat, will always make me smile.

I have read that there is no proof cats can feel affection. I disagree with that. I think they give back so much. Just not in the same style a dog would.
One of my cats acted depressed when another of my cats died, and they all stopped playing for a while. We have one who has a fit when the children are in the bathtub and start squealing. She acts as though she thinks they are in trouble.
When I've been depressed, my favorite cat used to find me every time and cuddle up with me.
