Just wondering about it....
I have once:
I was searching the internet and I found a random semi-popular site similar to mylifeisaverage
So, I made an account and started posting/ searched the site
There is a way to report people if their post is inappropriate
But I'm not usually one to tattletale unless it is really awful
HOWEVER, it said when you clicked on it, to report for any reason....even a stupid one they emphasized that
So, I wanted to see what would happened, and I reported someone for swearing just for the fun of it.
Where some sites don't pay attention even if you are getting harassed and you report, this on paid attention.
The next day, I tried to go to the site and it said that I was banned because people swear, grow up.
I only meant it as a joke because theeeeeeey used a joking tone.
That's the story....

Anyone get banned for anything as trivial?

I've never been banned from any website, although I was reprimanded on one message board when I was about thirteen. Basically, I started a separate account and did some naughty things from that account. When I confessed of this to the site's moderator, she only gave me a warning not to do it again.

Yeah, I was pretty obnoxious on that website. Looking back, I'm surprised I never was banned to begin with.

I was temporarily banned from gameFAQs about 10 years ago for trolling. I'm sure I could log back onto that account now if I remembered my login info...

No! Bad Tea! *walks away*

I got banned from a Bf1942 "clan" site once.
It was so long ago that I cannot remember why anymore.

Usually I am the one doing the banning(pretty much just for spam-bots though) :)

I was a member of a teen auction site (similar to eBay) when I was a teen and was banned. I couldn't figure out why so I looked at the forum and other sellers were lying and making up stuff about me. I think that they were jealous because I was selling so much stuff. The site didn't care when I told them that this was false because it was a free site and they didn't get a percentage of the selling price.

I was banned from a mental health dating website, for asking in the chat box why there were never any members online. They didn't give me any warning, and there was no way of contacting them to say grrr.

When I was a mod on a different mental health website I banned several people. Who were actually all the same person, a man who caused a lot of upset among the women in the chat room.

I've been banned from a few feminist communities;
#1 - banned for not falsely reporting a man of raping me, and pointing out why this would be wrong.
#2 - banned for pointing out that a. men are not privileged in some ways and b. men are not all evil rapists.
#3 - banned for using the term 'coloured people' for non-whites when asking about issues of race and gender, this was not so much about terminology as it was an excuse for the moderator [who disliked my posts in forum #2] to ban me.

I've been banned from a sexual health community - a post on how harmful something is to sexual health, another member who had launched a personal attack against me replied disputing my 'claims' to start an argument, I defended myself and was banned, they weren't.

No, not for anything serious. I rarely notice the rules so it is probably a good thing that I go to places that aren't too demanding or I am sure I would be.

Why yes, now that you mention it, I have been banned! Although I can not remember why, or who exactly did the banning.

Even the name of the website escapes me for the moment...
