Does anyone else find that they enjoy a song more if they have seen the (official) music video that goes with it? IS this a personal thing or an Aspie thing?

sometimes the music video ruins a song for me. like when you read a good book and then watch the film and it's not as good

I prefer random montages, when done well. They seem to be the in vouge thing for all bands to do when they play live these days.

I will only watch a song's music video if it is said to be extremely good. Like most (If not all) of Sigur Ros' music videos.

Example. :D

I'm kinda biased though. D:

I like to watch the videos because it gives me some insight into the artists' motivations behind the song. I wouldn't say it enhances my enjoyment of the song, though.

Nope I usually prefer the songs which don't have music videos.

Often they ruin songs for me. But not always, sometimes I enjoy them.
I couldn't listen to Interpol's Evil anymore after watching the video.

Sometimes, depends on the song/video

The music video is never how I imagine it, similar to how a movie is never how I imagine a book. Although both are unique and have their good/bad points....neither depends on the other to be better/worse.

It sometimes ruins a song and sometimes makes it better, depending on the video or song.
