Hmm...
He's 19, she's 13.
There have been relationships like that as long as people have been around (not saying they had a "relationship" in the romantic sense...); there is quite an age difference and a difference in development, but it's not as bad as, say, a 25-year-old with a 13-year-old. His mind is still developing; he's still a teenager. I don't condone what he did at all, nor do I feel sorry for him, but it's honestly not the worst thing that could happen. If the 13-year-old didn't like the sending of pictures, I think there should have been something done, but if he was allegedly going to have sex with her that day, I don't know her opinion on the matter. Yes, it's against the law, but as I said, he's still young so he should have received counseling/therapy or something instead of humiliation on TV. But since it's a felony and he's an "adult", I don't see that as all that optional anyways.

So, I don't really feel sorry for him because he was still in control of what he was doing and claims that he knew it was wrong, but I don't think they should have filmed all of that stuff. But you never know; could have been acting.

Yes, I do feel sorry for him. I think. He got emotional and seemed sad which made me feel something that was at least akin to feeling sorry for him. I'd have felt sorry for him no matter who he was or what he had done. I felt sorry for him because of the emotions he expressed.
I don't believe he deserved it, but that is because I don't believe in the concept of "deserving something".

I don't feel sorry for him. He got what he had coming to him.

The whole filming was probably unnecessary, but he deserves everything hes getting as far as punishment goes. Not because having sex with an underage person is 'wrong', but for the simple fact that he did it, knowing full well what the result could be. He gambled he could get away with it and lost.

He was well aware of his actions and whether or not he really liked the girl is irrelevant. He knew what he was getting himself into. He understood the possible repercussions and decided to do it anyway.

In that moment he also implicitly decided to accept any and all consequences that action might have. Crying about it afterwards is pointless.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. Not one little bit. He went with THREE boxes of condoms. I don't even know how many condoms are in one box, but with THREE boxes, I sure do know he wasn't planning on one encounter. Not only that, he also sent obscene pictures to this girl. He is only sad because he got caught. Had he never been caught, I don't believe he would have regretted his actions. I hope they catch more people like him, and nope...no sympathy, no pity from me!

I feel sorry for him. I'm not saying what he was going to do would be acceptable by any means, but, wow. I can't imagine if some FBI dude came to my door and started interrogating me like that. I would want to shoot myself too.

I didn't watch the clip, but I'm familiar with the program. I think this witch-hunt against paedophiles is disgusting. Paedophilia needs to be TREATED sensibly. So yes, I do feel sorry for him, even though he may be a disgusting character and what he intended to do was certainly wrong.

That is creepy and wrong. Like many people here, I don't feel sorry for him. Seems like he is kinda brainless.

However, I do feel sorry about the internet addiction. Not that I would EVER do or talk about that sorta stuff, but I know what it's like to be addicted to the computer and have nothing else to do...no life. But that doesn't give him an excuse to do illegal stuff. I once watched a full movie (still in theatre) online (which I'm pretty sure is against the law) and I still feel bad about it, this is just disgusting.

Having watched the video, yes. I still feel sorry for him. His intentions are of course wrong, but what this program does is one step away from enforcing thought crime. I don't believe that the kid is a paedophile, and had that group of people not posed as a sexually charged 13yo girl, I don't think he would have gone looking for one. I think he's just desperate and weak. + HE'S A KID. This program just ruined his life. Even though yes, his intentions were wrong blablablaI'mrambling.
