I've simply decided to instead of play games/fun stuff to refocus and start fresh. Getting back to my activist (environmental, animal rights, human rights) side hence my new avatar-"Nipponia Nippon" aka Japanese Crested Ibis that is on the verge of extinction.

This doesn't mean that I'll become preachy about things, I just won't endulge in non sense as much.
Not reinventing. . .re-establishing. If you view some of my art at kindtree-the ocean pieces. You'll see
a side of me different from what you know.

You do a good job making people laugh. Focus on that and then work the important
things in as you can.

Maybe you should coordinate the environmental animal rights theme in your profile to create a more compelling impact, like add to your sig:

Nipponia nippon says "Save the whales."

Whiteskunk....a serious question.....how do you resolve your issues with depression and being more of an activist? This has been an issue for since I got sober.....I want to be more involved but whenever I read up on the topics(environments, humanitarian, politics, animal rights)I become over whelmed with depression and cynicsym(not very constructive....more destructive because I have the urge to "blow things up"...but refrain, because .....its not to good for the environment)I know its supposed to be "impowering" to do something rather then just to whine, moan, and fart into the wind....but I cant help but feel....with people like Bush getting elected....surely humainty is DOOMED.I mean, not the damage that such corprate take over of government can do....but what it implies about humans. How do you over come this?

I had a different problem with trying to be an activist - same sorts of issues, by the way; the other activists didn't like having me around any better than anybody else has, and it sucks being around people who don't want me around, even if I mostly agree with them.

I was also alienated by their holier-than-thou, my-sh*t-don't-stink attitude, this seems to occur all over the religious and political spectrum, so they don't have a monopoly, but they're not exempt either.

What might work for me is to totally change everything I believe and join the Ku Klux Klan. Then I won't have to worry about body language and facial expression.

Whiteskunk - humour and activism can go hand in hand: just look at someone like Bill Hicks.

In the UK we have Mark Thomas: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Thomas

The man is a genius. He encourages ordinary people to understand the lunacy of the world around them, the hypocrisy of politicians and big businesses, and the alternatives that are available, by using humour. If any of his shows are available on DVD, buy them.

Humour and social / moral / environmental politics are all parts of your personality. Just be yourself, as a whole.

I dont care if someone is a liberal or a conservative...I do not like being told what to do!!!I hung out with the PETA/Punkrock group for a while and found them to be some of the biggest control freaks I have ever known...every thing was dectated frm what you ate to what you wore...got old real fast..

INFORM ME DONT CONFORM ME,----think that would make a good T-Shirt

May I ask who in the Grand, Almighty name of F*** is Bill Hicks? I thought you were talking about David Hicks, the Aussie kept at Guantanamo Bay.

Hey, whiteskunk, I've got an idea, why don't you reinvent yourself as the next Steve Irwin? This is a semi-serious question.

I think it would take amphetamines to get that much passion for a job.

I guess he could rent a video camrea do something on YouTube and get a TV
deal out of it. He says he does voices, lots of creativty cares about issues.

I think the only bottle neck is his own mind playing tricks on him (keeping him down)
so it would help if he could find a local person to help motivate him.
