I heard once that this guy in a local nightclub punched this 6ft8 rugby player. the guy who punched the 6ft8 player was only 5ft10 or 5ft11. he recognised the ruby player and approached him and said "Your rugby team are a bunch off coconuts" he then punched the 6ft8 player. his limp fisted effort did him no favour sand apparently he was floored by the taller guy.

Do you think he got what he deserved? he was drunk i think when he punched him. the guy who threw the first punch according too locals is always getting into fights with people.

Well, I don't know that he got what he deserved... Nobody REALLY deserves to get hit, but if he turns into an idiot when he's drunk, maybe this was a wake up call in the making?

Anyone who takes sports so seriously doesn't deserve oxygen. It's not like their brains are getting much in the first place.

That's going straight to the book of quotes.

Well if he goes around punching folks when he gets drunk...it makes me wonder if he is the same way with his family, and if that is the case, then, yes.

That was just an all around unwise decision.... :?

My distant cousin is doing life in prison for punching a guy in the head. The guy died a week later. It was proven in court that the hit my cousin gave him created an internal brain injury...some sort of hemorrage. The guy fell over dead one week later while at work. Both were drunk but nobody should've died. Nothing is really worth losing control over. His whole life is ruined over something he did all the time but with this particular individual, the blow was fatal. It was "murder". You may be called a coward but it is always better to run from trouble.

Dear Jamesy,, What I think is that the nightclub may very well be sued by BOTH men! You said that the smaller man is 'always getting into fights'...why was he allowed in the club? Allowing a known fighter/hitter/mean drunk in is a danger to clientele, and the doorman's (or bouncer's) job is to know and exclude anyone who possibly poses a threat. Secondly, the bigger man may well have done some serious harm to the first man, and even hitting back in self defense, he may be getting sued for hurting the him. Sylkat

No. I actually reject the 'deserts' theory of justice altogether.

If you swing first, whatever happens after is on you. The legal system may disagree, there may be consequences for the guy who finished the fight rather than the guy who started it. But that doesn't change the fact that if you hit someone, you deserve, and are asking, to get hit back.
