In Sweden it's very easy, if they don't have very usual names. You just call the IRS and they'll help you to find them. 8)

Go to your Public Library and ask a Reference Librarian.

I've found a few just by searching on the internet....google the names ....you can try searching phone dir. pages by state or city if you have a generalized idea... sometimes that will pull something up. 8)

Can you get your hands on you dads birthcertificate? Then you can get the names of your grandparents. Or you can speak to a geneaologist then you can find the names of uncles you might have. The mormons have a good website.
Once you have the names you can use the internet, I think you have something called peoplefinder in USA.

OK. In Sweden we have a special authority just for taxes (of course), but since most documents here are official, anyone can call them and ask for a person they are searching. Since 1946, every citizen has a personal number and if you know that number you can get most information of him/her you want. 8O
