This may be more of a rant. But anyone else get upset by all the automatic stuff in our world.

The lights in my classroom come on automatically when there is motion in the room and go out if there isn't movement for so many minutes.

Toilets automatically flush when you move away from them at many places.

The paper towel dispensers are automatic in many places.

Many sink faucets in businesses today come on when you pass your hand in front of them. And there are even automatic soap dispensers.

If you touch the remote control in the wrong place you could end up with a mess of submenues on your TV.

My car's dashboard warns me of upcoming oil changes, then after I change the oil I can't get the blasted warning light to go off---and neither can the service station.

The windows on cars are usually electric. Ohhh, when the motor goes out, aghhh. What happened to manual crank windows.

The list goes on and on and on.

I personally get tired of all of this. I liked the day when I caused this stuff to happen. Now I know it takes my movement to make it happen, but I mean come on---I would rather use my hands to turn on the faucets and stuff. But oh yea---germs. I see why they do it. But come on...we still get sick. I think we are allowing ourselves to get more vulnerable to germs with stuff like that.

Oh well...I don't really want to debate this---I just wanted to rant a bit. I'm sitting here in my classroom by myself, and the crazy lights keep going off as I am typing here tonight while my son is at band practice. Then I have to wave my arms in the air to get the lights to come back on---frustrating. I just don't like all this automatic stuff.

Alright---when are they going to invent an automatic toilet paper wiper system for our bottoms?

I don't really care for today's automatic world, either. I like the old world where I could do all those things, myself. So many aspects of the old world have died off.

I dont like touching taps in public bathrooms. But I agree about the toilets flushing, they give a hell of a fright when they go off suddenly for no reason. Automatic doors can be annoying too, I find sometimes that I am too short and the door wont see me and open for me and I have to walk back and come at the door again a few times before it opens.
