I have added how much these houses cost here in Indiana and what their square footage is to help you determine what they would cost in your area.

So what do you think these houses would cost where you live?

I am in Ct and there is a lot of variation depending on which town its in or near the water but here is a general middle of the road price

1 $900,000
2 $650,000
3 $450,000
4 $250,000
5 $4,000,000

This is assuming that they are new or relatively so not handyman specials. Also like I said location is a big factor here House number 4 even in my town if it was close enough for water views would be at least double. If it was in certain parts of Fairfield County it could double or even more. I work construction and frequently work on houses in the multimillion dollar range personally I really don't know what someone wants with some of the big ones other than impress people and show off

The smallest would cost about £150,000 and the largest something like £2.1m.

I think the average for a three bedroom family home in my area is something like £280,000.

Consequently, many people rent or share properties. It is impossible for most people to buy a house unless they do so as a married couple with both husband and wife working full time.

My house is just a shade smaller than the smallest you list.

It's worth a shade over $380,000

Mind you it's about 180 years old.
And comes with about 225 sq ft of garden/yard in total,
not the pastures shown in your photographs...

New York:

House 1) 950,000 to 1,500,000
House 2) 750,000
House 3) 500,000
House 4) 150,000
House 5) 10-13,000,000

THIS is why I'm moving out of the area :D

Wow, everything here is so much cheaper than all of your guys' places! No wonder we're getting a lot of people from out of state around here! Oh, and House #2 is actually an inventory home in my neighborhood. It got built, but I guess the people decided not to move in or something, so now it's on the market as a new home. I've actually been in that house and I thought it was really small. Mine (well my mom's really) is 5,280 square feet and we're running out of room as it is. Well, keep posting those prices everyone! I actually find this kind of stuff extremely interesting!

My area? The $24,000 house would be about $250K as-is. In better shape, closer to $300K. The $129,000 house would be close to a half-mil. I don't even want to think about what the bigger ones would cost, much less the taxes on them.

I've seen people buy a house like number 3 in Westport Ct for 750,000 just to take it down to build a 2.5 million dollar monster with about 6000 square feet. One in my town on the water like number 4 have gone for 500,000 just to be taken down to build new ones. Down in Greenwich there are places were the lots start at 6 or 8 million. I worked on a more than a dozen houses that were more than 20,000 square feet my brother bid one for that was to be 48,000 square feet just what is it all for? I'd rather have land. BTW I'm working on now is about 3500 square feet but has realy good views of Long Island Sound and is just one house from the water it has no garage and on street parking and is over 1,000,000.

Minneapolis MN house costs have doubled in the past 5-10 years. The cheapest I have seen are over 100,000. and not always in the best neighborhoods or very small. It use to be cheaper to own a house and make monthly morgage payments then to rent....but we rent a 1000sq apt in an OK neighborhood(very mixed economic but mostly lower middle class)and rent is 750.00...the same size house has,at best,a 1000. to 1200. monthly morgage....I really feel bad for the people "w" Bush incouraged to be home owners who are now facing forclosure because the house costs had gone up before they bought but wages are stagnent and the cost of "everything" else has risen(gas, health care, education costs)...
We are waiting for the "bubble to burst" before we even consider buying....

Well, in parts of the UK we are very much strapped for space.

Had we any urban Japanese here, they might put some really large price tags on the pictured houses.

That is amazing! They would be about the same in my area which is Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. However, Prices just 100 miles away in Nova Scotia are even lower.

It depends on the size of the ground that comes with them. My parents house with ground has a taxation value of almost 1 million Swedish crowns or about $140,000. The house is about 1900 sq ft. Their garden is 3/4 of an acre, though. Without the garden the taxation value would be much less. It also depends on the location. My parents have sea overlook. Without garden and without sea overlook it would be half the price or less.
